Since 2014, the NYU Game Center Incubator has established itself as a leading force in the independent games industry, helping transform small, innovative projects into polished, launched games. Affiliated with NYU’s renowned Game Center, the Incubator provides a unique blend of funding, mentorship, industry connections, and practical resources—all designed to set diverse teams up for success in a rapidly evolving field.
Industry Leadership & Specialization
The NYU Game Center Incubator specializes in:
- Game development incubation for independent and small studio teams
- Mentorship and professional development through a dedicated Executive Producer and industry advisors
- Funding support, providing $15,000 per team/game
- Workshops and networking with industry experts and festival exposure (e.g., PlayNYC, GDC)
The program is recognized for its commitment to supporting a wide variety of game genres and end goals, including digital, tabletop, VR, and experimental projects, rather than enforcing a one-size-fits-all definition of success.
