The surge in Neapolitan pizza schools after its inscription proves that when cultural heritage is recognized, it creates a massive demand for authentic learning and consumption. While the development of AI technology has benefited people, it has also provided malicious individuals with new tools to forge videos and harm others. Therefore, the Danish Parliament is preparing to pass a new law granting everyone copyright to their own appearance, prohibiting others from unauthorized reproduction, synthesis, or distribution of images. Although the intention behind the legislation is acknowledged, there are significant questions regarding its implementation. The news about the Danish Parliament seeking to grant individuals “copyright to their own appearance” is a seismic shift. It indicates a clear legal, ethical, and market response to the uncontrolled spread of AI-generated content (deepfakes). The core challenge is: How can individuals and corporations enforce a right (their likeness) when the infringement is cheap, decentralized, and often instant? This inspired me to found “PersonaShield.”
